Open Doors Legal Services was born from Maria Diaz’s life story and professional experience. Maria is a Paralegal and migrant with more than ten years of experience in criminal law, immigration, human rights, and poverty law matters.

Since arriving in Canada, she has worked alongside vulnerable communities, especially LGBTQ+ people and Spanish-speaking migrants. With a practice focused on accessible, culturally inclusive justice, Maria combines her legal knowledge, her commitment to the community, and a humane approach to ensure that nobody has to face the system alone.
